Strengthening Women’s Entrepreneurship Through Continued Partnership with WCIC Sri Lanka
McLarens Group is proud to mark its fourth consecutive year of partnership with the Women’s Chamber of Industry & Commerce Sri Lanka (WCIC), reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing women’s participation and leadership in the business landscape of Sri Lanka.
This sustained collaboration reflects a common vision to create meaningful opportunities for women entrepreneurs, encourage collaboration and foster inclusive ecosystems where innovation, talent and leadership can thrive. Over the years, the partnership has evolved into a platform that not only recognizes excellence, but also strengthens the foundations required for long-term economic empowerment.
A key pillar of this partnership is the WCIC Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards, which continue to serve as an important catalyst for economic development. Insights from recent editions of the program highlight the resilience and diversity of women-led enterprises across the country. Notably, 31% of participating businesses have been operational for over a decade, reflecting sustainability and business maturity, while 44% of applicants are under the age of 40, signaling a promising pipeline of future leaders. The strong representation of first-time applicants further underscores the program’s inclusive reach across a wide range of sectors.
Beyond recognition, the initiative provides a structured framework for growth, with emphasis on financial sustainability, sound corporate governance and enhanced market visibility. By supporting entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses and expanding their economic contribution, McLarens remains committed to driving inclusive and sustainable progress.
The Group extends its congratulations to all provincial, national and regional award winners whose achievements continue to inspire positive change and inclusive growth across the region.
