McLarens Group March into MCA Finals After a Thrilling Semi-Finals Win

McLarens Group delivered a determined and disciplined performance to secure their place in the MCA Cricket Tournament Finals, prevailing by three wickets in a closely contested semi-final encounter.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the innings were restricted to 102 in 19.1 overs, reflecting the effectiveness of McLarens Group’s disciplined bowling attack. The innings were dismantled by a superb performance from Shehan Sandaruwan, who led the attack with outstanding figures of 5 for 11 in four overs. He was well supported by Asanka Ranasinghe (2 for 16) and Lahiru Amarasekara (2 for 20), whose controlled performance ensured sustained pressure throughout.

In pursuit of 103, McLarens Group faced a few tense moments as wickets fell at intervals. Ethan Ransilige steadied the innings with a composed 29, before Shehan Sandaruwan once again rose to the occasion with a quickfire 31 not out off 15 balls, shifting the momentum firmly in McLarens’ favor. Asanka Ranasinghe provided valuable support with an unbeaten 19, guiding the team to 103 for 7 in 19 overs and sealing a memorable victory.

Shehan Sandaruwan’s outstanding all-round performance proved decisive in the semi-final, reflecting the team’s resilience, composure and determination under pressure.
