The Seafaring profession in the maritime sector offers a unique blend of adventure, rapid professional growth, and financial stability simultaneously. As a Navigation Officer Cadet with MMA, you'll be on course for a rewarding career with high earning potential in dollars, attractive job opportunities, and the chance to sail the seven seas as a professional seafarer. This program is designed to transform passionate candidates into skilled navigating officers, setting them on a clear track to eventually becoming a Captain.

MMA's comprehensive training program is structured to provide a solid foundation in maritime operations. The journey begins with seven months of intensive shore-based academic training, followed by twelve months of hands-on experience onboard vessels engaged in international trade. The next eight months are dedicated to preparatory courses leading to the competency examination conducted by the Ministry of Shipping as Officer in charge of a Navigational Watch, over three months for GMDSS and other mandatory courses transforming the Cadets to become well-groomed to take up future responsibilities.

Aspiring cadets should possess a minimum of two S Passes in Mathematics, Biology, or Technical streams, along with a Credit Pass for English in their ‘O’ Levels. These requirements ensure that candidates comply with the necessary academic background to excel in this challenging and rewarding field.

The career progression in maritime navigation is clearly defined and promising. Starting as a Navigation Cadet, one can advance to positions such as Third Officer, Second Officer, Chief Officer and ultimately culminating in the role of Captain. Moreover, the skills acquired on the way by an individual open doors to various shore-based opportunities, including but not limited to, professions such as Harbor Masters, Marine Pilots, Marine Superintendents, Port Captains, Examiners, Marine Surveyors, Ships’ Agency operators, Maritime Educators.
