For the second consecutive year, 3M-McLarens, hosted the 3M–McLarens Occupational Health & Safety Symposium 2026, under the theme, “Cultivating Healthy Minds for a Stronger, Safer Workplace,” at Monarch Imperial on Wednesday, 9th September.
The 2026 edition placed a particular focus on the connection between mental well-being and physical workplace safety, drawing on global trends and evolving international standards in occupational health and safety. The symposium provided participants with practical strategies to manage everyday stressors and psychological pressures, while highlighting the importance of creating resilient, supportive and psychologically sound workplaces.
The event brought together cross-industry leaders from the public and private sectors, occupational health and safety professionals, and thought leaders from 3M and the McLarens Group. Through a series of technical presentations, expert-led discussions and practical exercises, participants gained insights and tools to strengthen workplace health, safety and well-being across diverse industries.
Commenting on the significance of the event, Dilan Seneviratne, Director/CEO of 3M-McLarens, said, “Following the benchmark set during our inaugural symposium, returning for a second consecutive year reinforces our long-term dedication to elevating workplace standards across Sri Lanka. Safety extends beyond physical protective equipment; it begins with the mind. By focusing on cultivating healthy psychosocial environments, we empower employees to feel supported, secure, and focused. At 3M–McLarens, our mission remains clear: combining global scientific innovation with practical expertise to build safer, stronger, and more resilient organizations.”
First established in 2025 as a key event in the McLarens Group’s corporate calendar, the annual symposium was founded with a clear vision to educate, empower and raise awareness of workplace health and safety across specialised industrial sectors.
Since its inception, the 3M–McLarens Occupational Health & Safety Symposium has provided a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration among industry stakeholders, helping bridge gaps in occupational health and safety expertise while promoting higher standards of workforce health, safety and protection.
