GAC Sri Lanka Secures Third Place in GAC Chairman’s Sustainability Excellence Awards

GAC Sri Lanka proudly clinched the third spot in the esteemed GAC Chairman’s Sustainability Excellence Awards, a testament to its remarkable initiatives in fostering sustainability. These awards spotlight companies within the Group that actively contribute to a sustainable future through tangible actions, integrating sustainability and humanitarian benefits into their daily operations.

Throughout 2023, GAC Sri Lanka reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship by spearheading a series of impactful sustainability endeavors. Notably, the company collaborated with the Marine Environment Protection Authority for a Coral Planting program in Dodanduwa, Galle. This initiative introduced new coral colonies, fostering biodiversity in the area. Additionally, GAC Sri Lanka continued its steadfast support for the mangrove rehabilitation program in partnership with the Department of Wildlife and Conservation, successfully planting approximately 250 mangrove plants. This effort not only enhances biodiversity but also plays a part in mitigating carbon emissions.

Furthermore, GAC Sri Lanka’s active participation in the Ocean's strainer project has proven instrumental in addressing ocean pollution at its source, earning commendation for its commitment to sustainable practices and environmental protection.

The proactive engagement in these initiatives underscores GAC Sri Lanka’s dedication to sustainability, embodying the ethos of responsible corporate citizenship while making tangible contributions to the preservation of our planet's ecosystems.
