GAC Sri Lanka recognized by NISOH for Outstanding Efforts in Occupational Health and Safety
The National Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (NISOH), an esteemed authority dedicated to ensuring workplace safety, recently opened the doors to its 2023 Awards, recognising remarkable achievements in occupational health and safety. This highly regarded event received an exceptional response, with over 200 applications spanning various sectors.
Following a meticulous and comprehensive evaluation process, 40 exemplary companies have emerged as the standout recipients for this year's Awards. The evaluation procedure comprised four significant stages:
1. Application Evaluation by NIOSH: Each submission underwent a thorough assessment by NIOSH, with a focus on compliance and adherence to occupational safety standards.
2. Desk Review and Presentation by Applicants: Companies provided in-depth insights and presentations highlighting their initiatives, strategies, and accomplishments in the realm of occupational health and safety.
3. Virtual onsite verification by Technical Team: Rigorous onsite inspections and verifications were conducted by a specialized technical team to validate the practical implementation of safety measures.
4. Evaluation by Expert Team: An expert panel meticulously reviewed and assessed each candidate, considering the effectiveness and impact of their safety practices.
In the transport and logistics sector, GAC Sri Lanka stood out as an outstanding applicant. The company’s unwavering dedication and commitment to upholding high safety standards led to the prestigious accolade in the Small and Medium Category for this sector.
The NISOH Awards serve as a testament to GAC Sri Lanka’s unwavering commitment and exemplary efforts in creating a safe and secure working environment.
