McLarens Group Sponsors the Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards 2023
The prestigious ‘Prathibhabhisheka Women Entrepreneur Awards 2023’ took place at the Colombo Hilton on 28th February 2024, organized by the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce Sri Lanka (WCIC). Celebrating the achievements of Sri Lanka’s female entrepreneurs and their counterparts from the SAARC region, the event showcased the remarkable contributions of women in business.
The McLaren Group played a significant role in supporting this initiative as the proud Gold Sponsor for the second consecutive year. Their sponsorship reflects our commitment to promoting and empowering women in entrepreneurship, while advocating for gender equality in the business landscape.

The event was attended by the President- HE Ranil Wickremesinghe and in his address at the ceremony he emphasized the ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering the growth of female entrepreneurs to align with the country’s economic evolution. He highlighted the pivotal role women entrepreneurs can play in advancing digital and green economies, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting their empowerment. President Wickremesinghe extended his congratulations to all the award recipients, recognizing their commendable efforts.

Hosted by the WCIC, the awards ceremony aimed to not only honor exceptional female entrepreneurs but also to facilitate the expansion of their businesses and access to markets. Additionally, it provided a platform for women from the SAARC region to compete in a special category.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe presented awards to ten outstanding female entrepreneurs in the National Category, while Prof. Maithree Wickramasingha bestowed the SAARC Category awards.

Distinguished guests including Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera, former State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe, American Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung, Pakistan High Commissioner Faheem Ul Aziz, WCIC President Anoji De Silva, CEO Chitranjali Dissanayake, Board Member Thusitha Kumarakulasingham, and other officials graced the event, emphasizing the importance of women’s entrepreneurship.
