McLarens Group Leads Initiative to Elevate Occupational Health and Safety in Sri Lanka
The McLarens Group recently hosted the 3M-McLarens Occupational Health and Safety Symposium 2025, marking a historic milestone in Sri Lanka’s commitment to workplace safety. This private sector-led initiative brought together over 300 participants from more than 100 companies across diverse industries, highlighting the growing need for advanced workplace safety standards.
The symposium served as a platform to educate, empower, and equip safety and procurement managers with the latest insights, innovations, and best practices in occupational health and safety. With Sri Lanka’s industries evolving rapidly, ensuring the safety of workers and organizations has become more critical than ever.
A major highlight of the event was the introduction of holographic stickers on all 3M personal safety products. This proactive measure helps customers distinguish genuine 3M products from counterfeit and grey-market alternatives, which often compromise quality and safety. These holographic stickers provide assurance of authenticity, confirming that the products meet the highest global standards. This initiative underscores McLarens’ commitment to protecting frontline workers with genuine, high-quality safety solutions.
Dilan Seneviratne, Director and CEO of 3M-McLarens, expressed his enthusiasm:
“Our passion for occupational health and safety has always been at the core of what we do. This symposium reflects our dedication to empowering industries with the right tools, knowledge, and innovations. The overwhelming response from professionals across sectors only motivates us to continue these efforts in the years to come.”
Dr. Aseni Wickramatillake, National Secretary of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), praised the initiative:
“As an occupational health professional, I applaud this groundbreaking OSH symposium—the first hosted by a private organization in Sri Lanka. The discussions addressed critical workplace safety needs, while 3M and McLarens’ efforts continue to raise occupational health standards nationwide.”
From thought-provoking sessions led by international experts to insightful discussions with local industry leaders, the symposium provided invaluable knowledge to all attendees. Its success reaffirms McLarens’ leadership in advancing workplace safety in Sri Lanka.
As the McLarens Group continues to champion occupational health and safety, this symposium represents the first step in a series of transformative initiatives. Trusting McLarens and 3M means joining a movement toward safer, smarter, and more resilient workplaces for all.
