McLarens Group Intercompany Badminton Tournament 2025 Celebrates Team Spirit and Excellence

The McLarens Group Intercompany Badminton Tournament was held on the 21st of June at St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10. With teams from across the Group coming together for a day of spirited competition and camaraderie, the tournament provided an engaging platform to strengthen the bonds across companies while highlighting their athletic skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.

In the Championship category, MGML Combine A team claimed Champions with GAC A and Interocean Energy securing runners up and 1st runners up respectively. In the Cup category ONE Lanka emerged as Winners while GAC B and Topaz Hotels were awarded runners up and 1st runners up. Each match brought out the best in the players throughout the day marked by technical skills, discipline and unwavering team support.

In addition to team accolades, several special awards were presented to recognize individual excellence and standout performances on and off the court. Sasangi Wickramasinghe and Thenuk Fernando were awarded Player of the Final Cup Women’s and Men’s respectively, while Praveena Somaweera and Mangala Gamage received Player of the Final Championship Event Women’s and Men’s titles. The Best Player of the Championship Tournament awards went to Shehara De Silva for Women’s and Navin Perera for Men’s, while Maneesha Sandamini was named Best Player of the Plate Tournament Women’s.
