The St. Anne Home for Elders is situated in Kelaniya and is home to many elderly men and women. Mr. Rohan De Silva, McLarens Group Chairman, helped out by bearing a significant amount of the cost for the construction of the home.
The Elder’s Home comprises of 3 wings. The first wing is for females, which includes 6 rooms, a relaxing parlor, and a meet and greet area for visitors. The third wing is the same, except for males.
Both these wings has a room each for a Rev Sister from the order of Mary Immaculate to look after the elders and manage that wing.
The second wing, in the middle is a common area for everyone that includes a utility room, doctor consultation area, a chapel, a kitchen, Refectory and stores.
There is also a separate area to house the Rev. Sisters, who will look after the inmates of the home.
This Wing is named after the Late Mrs. Azalea De Silva, beloved mother of Rohan De Silva.
In addition to this, the premises also has a water tower that holds 24,000 gallons of water to cater to the whole area.
