Job Purpose
The Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) will drive sustainable growth and achieve company targets by formulating and executing the operational strategy for specified group companies and their subsidiaries. This role requires ensuring ethical operations in line with the Group’s Policies and applicable laws. The COO will make strategic, timely decisions in consultation with shareholders, the Group CEO, the Board of Directors, and all relevant stakeholders. Regular monitoring, priority setting, and team coaching are Key aspects of this role. The position reports directly to the Group CEO and Shareholders.
Key Responsibilities
- strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the operational strategy to drive business growth and increase market share.
- Strategic Planning: Formulate overall strategic plans and goals for the group, proposing projects and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Industry Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including government and regulatory authorities, to gain a competitive edge.
- Best Practices Implementation: Ensure the adoption of best practices and centrally developed strategies across the group.
- Client Relations: Maintain relationships with key clients to ensure retention and loyalty.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with Heads of Group Management to improve overall group processes and efficiency.
- Intermediary Role: Act as a liaison between Group Directors, Shareholders, and the Group CEO to execute tasks assigned by the Group MD/Group CEO.
- Financial Achievement: Assist in achieving overall group financial goals in collaboration with the Group CEO/Group COO.
- Subsidiary Representation: Represent shareholder interest in subsidiary companies by serving as a director.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration).
- 10+ years of relevant domain experience (e.g., Sipping, Project Management, Logistics and Transport, Manufacturing and Distribution, Supply Chain)
- 10+ years of Leadership experience at the Director level.
- Proven track record in handling and driving organizational strategies for business excellence.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into actionable points. Excellent communication and consensus-building skills in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
