McLarens group is seeking an aspiring, energetic & a competent individual to join under Maritime & Logistics cluster as an Executive – Operations (Chartering).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and follow up on all chartering and commercial activities related to own and non-own assets.
- Develop networks with ship brokers, owners, managers, salvors, and salvage companies globally. Maintain updated analysis and records on market demand and penetration.
- Attend and manage promotions, trade exhibitions, and sales visits to attract new customers and business opportunities.
- Manage inquiries and special projects, work on market strategies to promote tug businesses, and handle broker management.
- Develop pipelines for businesses, networks, projects, and customers. Draft, close, and finalize agreements, and manage tender bids.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing principals, increase customer satisfaction, and closely monitor competition to remain competitive.
- Acquire market intelligence and competitor reports, prepare travel plans, and ensure the company meets its monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Manage costs through cost-cutting and process re-engineering, improve cash flow, negotiate better credit terms, and ensure timely invoicing.
- Improve cash flow and working capital by reducing credit extended to customers, striving for advance payments, avoiding bad debts, and negotiating better credit terms with suppliers. Ensure timely invoicing.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- ICS qualification or Degree in Logistics preferred.
- Basic shipping course from a relevant shipping professional body.
- Good knowledge of statutory, customs, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with financial and marketing principles.
- Excellent communicational skills.
- Shipping Agency experience would be an advantage.
