Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and reconcile inventory movements, purchases, and sales.
- Support stock counts and investigate inventory variances.
- Verify supplier invoices and process supplier payments.
- Maintain accounts payable records and reconcile supplier statements.
- Oversee cashier-related activities and ensure compliance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Provide financial information to support business decision-making.
- Assist with tax-related reporting and statutory compliance.
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Part qualification in CA, CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or retail industry is mandatory.
- Experience using accounting software and POS systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Applicants should be based in or willing to work in Matara.
